It will accept either type of refill.  A new / working refill is in the pen.

The pen is 5-1/4 inches in length.
The pen is made from metal and is painted a nice matte black color.
It has the traditional Cross black button at the top.
The clip and pen tip are gold tone.
The clip says Cross.
Turn the top of the pen to advance or retract the refill tip.
