Hand-painted Antique Folding Hand Fan Sensu with Two Asian Children on Bridge

I love that these two blondish Asian children appear to have haloes around their heads, and also how intently they appear to be peering over the rail of this bridge, perhaps watching fish swimming by. I am not entirely sure whether this little fan is Japanese or Chinoiserie, but I think it's very sweet, down to the stippled leaves on the trees that hover over the figures, and the gold and white painted detail on the sticks. The gold flecked backside is pretty, too.
Good condition, with some wear along the top edge of the paper. 10 3/4" across when open; closed 6 1/8" long x 7/8" wide x 1/4" deep.
