Vintage Set of Two Japanese Kyoto Die-Cut Bamboo Sensu Folding Fans: Mar21-DD
Hakuchikudo (白竹堂)
This set is from a large collection of vintage fans we have acquired. They were a gift from Nihon Seimei for a special customer. The fans are the printed, washi-paper and there is one small one and one larger one intended for a couple. They are very intricately hand-made and have floral or nature motifs on one side and are blank on the back. The bamboo struts are a natural, un-lacquered
die-cut
design. They are unused but as they have been stored for many years and are still in their original box.
One measures
about 16” or 40cm across when open and is about 8¾" or 22cm long when closed and the other
about 14” or 35cm across when open and is about 7½" or 20cm long when closed
