Rare Vintage CROSS Sterling Silver Miniature Mechanical Lead Pencil.
This Rare Sterling Miniature CROSS measures about 3
7/16
inches long (see photo).
The standard CROSS Lead Pencil shown is only for size reference and NOT included in this auction.
The Sterling CROSS Pencil works. It appears this Mechanical Lead Pencil does not come apart and has to be loaded with lead from the front. Presently there’s a short piece of lead in it, that came from the standard CROSS pencil, which can be lengthened or shortened in length by turning the pencil front appropriately.
All newer CROSS writing implements have the name, metal content and where it was made impressed above the clip.

Impress on the lower section (see photo).
Physical condition
: A small ding on one side in an area above the clip (see photo) and a light impression on the back top section in the middle (I could not get this to show up in a photo) and a ding in the middle of the lower section (see photos). The black top has small marks and scratches. There are definite signs of use, along with the mentioned dings and impression there are many scratches here and there  on this highly collectable rare writing implement.
