This great Vintage Style Magic Poster shows the Magician Dante surrounded by his magical entourage. Born August Harry Jansen, this magician became one of the most successful stage magicians in America after being hired by the famed Howard Thurston in 1922 to tour Thurston's second unit for him. His show was very successful in the U.S. and also on several world tours. During one tour to Eastern Europe in the 1930s, Dante found that he was not allowed to take the money he had earned out of the country, so he spent his entire profits on publicity materials (posters, ornate souvenir books, etc.) which he was allowed to ship back to America. Dante was also featured often on radio, and appeared in several movies, including 1942's Laurel and Hardy flick "A-Haunting We Will Go". The poster reads: “ The Mysterious Dante - Dante and his own Big American Company presenting the Worlds Greatest Mystery Spectacle ”
This Classic Vintage Style poster honors the beauty of this unique art form and evokes the vivid images of simpler times. Each of our prints are custom reproductions printed on Heavyweight Enhanced Matte Art Paper. These Historic Art Prints are suitable for framing, mounting or direct display on any wall!
